The most popular options amongst serious photographers are definitely DSLRs. Compared to point-and-shoots, they are bulkier, as well as more expensive and complicated to use and cumbersome to maintain. Therefore, they are definitely much less convenient, meaning that taking a pictures with them is always a mission of sorts.
